With school back in session, our students are learning new things and making new connections. And parents/guardians/family members can also experience the same.

The Tonasket PTO is working hard with our teachers and administrators to strengthen connections with parents and the community. One way to do this is by encouraging parents to get more involved through volunteering. We challenge our TES parents, guardians, and family members to volunteer at least 2 hours of your time at the elementary school during the 2016-2017 school year. Volunteers are encouraged to tweet or Facebook their service with #IVolunteer2.

The PTO will be updating the ‘Help Wanted’ bulletins and notifications to connect teachers with potential parent volunteers. Our Tonasket Elementary teachers are working to create activity lists and opportunities that would parents the opportunities to help out. Volunteers are not restricted to their student’s grade or teacher so can help out any grade level or teacher!

Volunteers working directly with the students are REQUIRED to have a Volunteer Background Check Form on file at the school. The forms are good for 2 years. So if you’re not sure if you need to update your form or need to complete a new form, contact the front office at 509-486-4933.
