Participate in School Board Meetings

  • Citizens wanting to address the board can do so at a regular board meeting.

  • Regular meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. the last Wednesdays of each month in the board room of the district office, 35 DO Hwy 20 East, Tonasket WA. On holidays, or when a conflict occurs, or a meeting may be held at an alternate time and/or date and location.

  • Anyone wishing to comment on a topic on the agenda, the board chair will call for public comment at the appropriate time on the agenda. You will be asked to come to the podium to made your comments.

  • Anyone wishing to speak on an issue not on the agenda will be invited to speak once for up to three minutes. The board may or may not discuss your issue at this meeting, more likely the board will place it on a future agenda or refer the issue to the superintendent. The will board will unlikely take any action at the meeting, but they are interested in hearing your concerns. You will be asked to come to the podium to make your comments.

  • School board minutes are posted following board approval, which occurs at the last Wednesday of each month.

  • Individuals with disabilities who may need a modification to participate in the board meeting should contact the superintendent’s office no later than three days before the meeting so that arrangements for the modification can be made.
